Welcome. This blog is published by Jonathan, usually posting under the handle Wayfarer. I am a technical writer by profession (now retired) and have a life-long interest in philosophy and spirituality, with particular interest in how ideas from ancient, classical, and contemplative traditions interact with contemporary culture.
I've set up this blog to post essays and reflections on subjects such as:
Philosophy of mind and consciousness
Metaphysics and the history of ideas
Science and its conceptual foundations
The contemplative dimension of philosophical life
Much of what I write and think about draws on cross-disciplinary sources — from Aristotle to Husserl, from Buddhist philosophy to systems theory. The posts here are deliberately considered, sometimes dense, and occasionally polemical. They’re written as much for clarification as for communication, but mainly because I like to write. I can also be found on Medium and thephilosophyforum.com.
